resizing a picture

I have a picture(jpeg) thats 818kb. How do I reduce it to say 90kb? the picture is on my desktop and I have win 98 second edition. Explain this to me as if I were a 2yr old.:confused: :banghead:

The easiest thing to do is to go to MSN Powertoys (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx) and download their image resizer.

Another option - go fetch the freebie Irfanview - http://www.irfanview.com/
It's a great viewer and, will resize to either pre-set sizes or your own choice. Then set jpg compression to a % that suits to finish up with a smaller pic and smaller file size. It does not write to registry altho it has an install process - also has a bunch of plug-ins as an option to make it a very versatile deal, even beyond images.

thank you. I did this before and knew there was something already on my old computer to do this easily and found it today. PAINT! Just insert your picture, change the attributes and there you are. couldn't be easier:cool:

+eleventy billion on Irfanview. That's part of the standard software load I install on any new Windows box that I set up.
