finally the weather was nice and I took my newest pistol out to the range here on post and I was impressed. It is alot different than my xd, but after a few magazines I was puttin' em right were i wanted them. I went to the range with 100rds of blaser brass, and 100rds of american eagle, both in 115gr and fmj. with a little motion lotion to boot. No problems, no malfunctions of any kind. it grouped well at both 10 and 25 meters.standing and from the prone. light recoil and very managable even doing rapid fire drills. I tried out some 147gr winchester JHP as well just to see how they would function, and though they had a little more bump to them they still went right where they needed to. a am now a very pleased Ruger owner and would recommend one to anyone. $375 out the door and cheap ammo to boot, you really can't beat that.

A great round for the money. Very underrated IMO.

I traded my P95.. :( I do have a P85 and P90, though. The P85 is just as accurate, maybe a little more, and the P90 is MORE accurate for sure. the P95 was quite accurate, though, and handier to carry. ;) Kinda wish I still had it. If I get another one, it'll be stainless this time.

Ruger P series are among my favorite. I like guns built like tanks, high quality, low expense. I have a KP89 and love it dearly.

I forgot to mention but I love the single action, but the double is a little ruff, I only shot da twice out of the 220rds, I will practice some more with it next time i guess, it is gonna be primarially a range gun but hey you never know when you might need it in a real world situation so i guess it is better to know how it is gonna do.

The DA will smooth out with use. My old P85's trigger is less than optimum in DA or SA. They are much better now days. It breaks about maybe 7 or 8 lbs in SA (guessing, haven't measured it). My P90 is smoother and lighter in both DA and SA and I love that thing, so easy to shoot. The DA/SA transition is easy on it, too.
I remember the DA on my P95 being a little stiff. Seems like it staged a bit more at the end of the travel than my P90, too. That won't go away without doing some trigger work on it, maybe a new spring. I remember the SA trigger being crisp and light. So I guess they're all pretty well the same, eh? Yeah, the DA trigger on the P95 could use some work to lighten up. I shot mine well, though, never worried a lot about the DA pull on the thing.

I've owned P-85,90,94,95 and 97's and some were smoother DA than others out of the box. Not hard to make smoother with a bit of attention to the trigger surfaces.
One thing that seemed to run consistantly through them is a longish hammer spring that compresses nearly to coil-bind when cocked.
Installing a Wolff spring is an easy fix and worth the time and effort if your P-whatever stacks badly.
