Is it safe? The bore is chrome lined. I have Briley tubes and would probably have to change those, but I have never seen any reference to steel shot in the A303.

Maybe because they were discontinued before steel shot.

Steel's been around a while. Try BerettaUSA for expert advice.

I THINK it's safe unless you use a Full or tighter choke, I'd stick to Light Modified or Modified.

Is the 303 a 3" shotgun? I thought they were just 2 3/4".

Yes, it is 2 3/4. Don't they make steel in 2 3/4?

I'm a trapshooter/dove hunter and was just wondering.

They do make steel in 2 3/4", Topdog, but the payload is a bit skimpy. The More Is Better Principle does apply.

However, the 2 3/4" Hevi Shot loads seem to be quite effective. If I do any Goosin' this fall, I intend to try some out.
