Anyone else think that a new Smith 619 cut to 3.25 inch barrel would be the ultimate carry revolver? 7 rounds of .357... Mmmm.. Mmmm.... MMMMMMMMMM!!!!

How about a 66-5 pre lock 357 with 3.2 inch barrel and RB?:)

Down with the L-frame!
Everyone knows that the 4" S&W K-frame is the perfect weapon to carry inside or outside the belt, and if that is too big for you then it is time for a J in the pocket. Everyone also knows that 6 rounds is the perfect number. Not 5, not 7, but 6! Imagine how stupid you'd sound saying "It's OK honey, I've got my trusty seven shooter" :uhoh:
Down with the L-frame abominations!:barf: :barf: :barf:

I personally think a Scandium 386 would be a great carry revolver :D

I love the "K's" but I recently handled a new "L" frame for the first time and was very impressed. It feels and handles much "smaller" than I thought based on how it looks in the various photos I've seen. The one I shot was the 620 and if I had had the scratch, I would have bought it that day! The 619, is, I'm sure just as good. In a "one and only" scenario I think the fixed site guns make more sense, but we're not in a one-gun world (YET:what: )and I prefer the adjustable sites. (Not for their "adjustability", just because they are much easier to see and use.)
I don't know if I'd go so far as to cut down the barrel. I'd probably just choose either a 2-1/2" (when they decide to make them) or a 4" (or BOTH!) But if you have the desire and the bread-go for it. My stainless 3" (M65) is probably my favorite and the last one I'd get rid of. Jus curious why you'd cut a 4" down to 3.25" and not 3"?

I'm lucky enough to have two of the perfect wheelguns for carry.
SW 66-2 with 3-inch bbl
SW 65LS with 3-inch bbl
They balance perfectly and can shoot ungodly tight groups.

I agree, I would love a 3" 619, but in blued, or even a nice black armory koat type finish.
My current want is basically anything fixed sight and 3", I'm looking very hard at the 3" M13s Allans Armory has.

I have a 620 and love it. If I had it to do over, I might consider the 619. Mine has had the S&W Master Revolver job and is just unreal to shoot. I topped it off with Ahrends grips.
Please understand that these guns have the 2 piece barrel- the threaded insert actually holds the shroud (which looks like the barrel) to the frame, so I don't know about cutting the barrel down.
Gunblast.com had a good review on the 620 and 619. It's in their Archives section.

I'd say the 327 snubbie (http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=11101&storeId=10001&productId=14810&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=15714&isFirearm=Y) is the "ultimate carry revolver"
Light weight, compact and 8 (that's EIGHT) rounds of .357mag at your disposal (plus they come from the factory cut for moon clips).

I dunno... I sure like my Colt Magnum Carry... six in pocket size is darn nice...
But, I have found myself drooling over that new 619, too... I like fixed sights...
