Hello Everyone,

Is anyone familiar with the AK style rifles being built in Texas using Bulgarian parts and engineering?

Recently at a gun show I saw some very reasonably priced (i.e., about $350) AKs with some of the nicest quality I have ever seen in an AK style rifle. The dealer told us the company was based here in Texas and was made from Bulgarian parts.

So I decided to wait and see if anyone here on THR might have tried one out.

If yes, how is the quality and reliability?

How is the accuracy?

What's the story on these rifles and the company who makes them?

There's a write up in SAR last year. Check it out.

I believe this is the company (http://www.arsenalusa.com) that you're looking for.

I only deal with the Romanian rifles. They work well and the price is right. I have never dealt with the company you ar asking about.

How accurate does it shoot?

The Romanian SAR1's are very accurate as far as Ak rifles go. I consider all Ak's 100 yard or less guns and preferably around 50 yards. They sure are a lot of fun to shoot, one of my favorite play toys.

I know how accurate SAR-1's are, I own one. Mine shoots about 5-6 inch 5 shot groups. What I was wondering if his was almost MOA for $700 because he could have gotten an AR for a little more. This is not to be taken rudely I understand everyone has their own deal.
What ever floats your boat,
