I was looking at S&W's website and they only list the PPK as available in .380. Did they just get rid of the PPK in .32 or is this a mixup?

I don't know what S&Ws intentions are but there don't seem to have been any 32ACP PPKs built in quite somwe time, anywhere. Earl Sheehan at Earl's Repair Service (google him) used to be able to get any model Walther made at the factory for a price, as long as it met current import restrictions. I don't know if he still does this. He is somewhat pricey, but very knowledgable.

Bill: I don't know how accurate the following information is, but many years ago I wanted a PPK in 32ACP but my dealer said that Walther's position was to only export the 380. Then along came the federal laws resulting in the PPK/S and additional hassle on imprts.. To this day the only 32's I have seen were used ones seen as war trophies with Nazi markings. Now that S&W has Walther...wo knows.

Umm, does S&W actually own Walther or do they just have the US mfg. and marketing license?

BTW, the sad thing about the 32ACP PPK is that now we can't get the gun 007 carried :)

Its quite funny that you bring this subject up right now, as we just
placed a USED Walther PP in .32 ACP in our show case last Friday.
Its about an 85 per center, without box or do'c; and I have NO idea
what the price is~?:uhoh: :eek:

The PP Walthers in 32 acp are fairly common and are often seen on AIMsurplus, CDNN and Centerfire systems. Prices vary but run $200-250 IIRC. The PPK in 32acp , OTOH, is getting pretty rare.

BTW, the PP is an excellent gun, in any caliber.

Right now there is an influx of 60-70s manurhin (france) 32 acps on the market.from $200-250.Nice guns and because they were made by Manurhin they are C&R. 8-)

Don't know if they are producing any .32 acp PPK / S or not; but I got the Walther 2006 catalog yesterday March 29th and they are listing them. I believe that I would rather have the .380 PPKS. IMHO the .380 round is the barest of minimum for self defense. The little PPK guns do have appeal. Thats the only thing in the catalog that I'd have everything else is puke. :banghead:

I don't know about puke. My P99 has been a flawless tack driver. As far as the .32 round goes, yeah its not a hand cannon, but with this kind of pistol concealability is my main concern. As such the ppk/s is out. And since neither of these rounds are "one stop shots" I would much rather have the one that is easier to control and thus more accurate under rapid/stress fire.

That and the fact that for some reason completely unknown to me I've had this addiction for mouse guns lately. Just cant seem to figure it out.

I like the PP pattern pistols best in .32. I have an old pre-war PPK that is a shooter (some dimwit polished and reblued it, but mechanically it's fine). A collector friend told me he believed the manufacture date to be somewhere in the mid-1930s (I haven't looked into it any further). This little gun is 100% reliable (something my mid-1990s PPK/S is not) and very accurate.

I haven't seen a Manurhin manufactured pistol in a while and when they do turn up at shows, they're using up there in the low $400s. $200-250? I snap one up.

There is a nice PPK 32 on the wall at the shop I go to in Colorado Springs and as Pistol Toter mentions they are still in catalog and on the Walther web site..
Just don't know what S&W's plans are
