I found an interesting document on one of the Russian websites dedicated to writings about recent wars. The paper is entitle “Reminder to the Policeman Departing to North Caucuses.” It seems to be written by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is intended for their servicemen heading to Chechnya. It covers many interesting topics such as estimating the distance from which you are fired upon, first aid in shock, use of a grenade launcher, driving in a convoy, etc. I do not know if this document is authentic. Those of you who read Russian can enjoy it at http://artofwar.ru/s/solodjagin_s_w/text_0230.shtml. If you don’t speak Russian, use http://www.online-translator.com/srvurl.asp?lang=en. You will get a readable page.

document looks authentic, at least for me. Some specific mis-spellings and errors suggest that it has been scanned from paper and then OCR'ed.

Not sure if online translator will help a lot, text is rather specific and needs a human eye and brain for proper interpretation (and no, i'm too busy to spend several hours on this text :( )

Max:

I’m also too busy, too lazy, and hate to translate. May be you can have someone do the job on your side of the pond for a few greenbacks? I can reimburse you.
