I couldn't resist buying a 5 pound can of 4756 on closeout for less than what I typically pay for a pound of anything else. It looks like it is a good shotgun powder but I'm hoping I can put it to use in pistols and maybe lead rifle loads.

Anyone have any experience and/or loads for SR 4756?

When I first started reloading 4756 was one of the powders I tried first. My experience though is limited to .38 Sp and light .357 loads and it worked fine in those. In fact a friend gave me a 1 pound can about six months ago but I haven't got around to using it yet. I see data for it in a lot of load books and manuals for lot of other handgun calibers.

It's a great pistol powder. I use it in .38 spl., .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum and 9mm. I bought a 12 pound keg of it years ago and I'm still working on it.
