Your search-foo is weak, young jedi. Click search and type in Taurus PT92AF.

Take you money and go buy a Springfield 1911 instead of that over grown junk. Yes I have one Sorry I wasted the money. I really think I would come to love a Glock before that thing.

Can you cite some specific instances as to why you disliked the PT92, or is that just an unhelpful and informationless "I HATE blah blah" post?

IMO, it's a solid, well-made and reliable piece of machinery with a safety design much improved over the Beretta it originated from. The Beretta's slide-mounted safety makes absolutely no sense to me, and since I can't accurately get it with my thumb without changing my grip, I'd expect it could be fatal in some reaction-time situations. The Taurus is a big, strong combat pistol that can take doublestack 17rd flushfit mags and eat +P+ all day, and the weight makes recoil negligable.

i had one before i bought my beretta's. check a couple places and u can get em for around $350 new. i got mine for 380 new and that was the SS model, the blued model went for $350.

a very well made gun, i never had any problem with it. the reason i sold/traded mine was i got a beretta and the quality was a bit better.

in short they are reliable, accurate and cheap. if u get a good deal on one i recommend u get it.

I've had my Taurus PT-92AFS for over 13 years. It has never failed to fire, never jammed, and I think the fit and finish is at least as good as what you'll find on the Beretta.

Add to that, you can carry it cocked and locked, and I'd say it's beats the Beretta, hands down.

As for reliability, I'd definitely call mine my SHTF carry gun. In its Galco rig with two extra mags, that's 52 rounds of 124gr +P+, and I'd call that good protection.

Personally I prefer the Beretta 92FS. That said, there is nothing wrong with the Taurus version. Everyone I know that purchased the Taurus had good things to say about it. I have only put 150rnds through one, and it was accurate and reliable. One thing I did notice was that the Beretta was just a tad better finished overall (machine marks, fit, etc.). Most shops near me sell the Taurus for around $379 give or take, and the Beretta 92FS for $509-$579. So the Taurus is a good value IMO.
