I have yet to see a Taurus 651 in person. I have seen the identical looking 851 (38special), but never a 651 (357mag). Has anyone here seen one? I'd like to get a 651 like the one shown below.....

One is being auctioned on GunBroker. Type "651" in as a search and it'll pop up. It's shadow grey, not blue if that's a concern. Good luck.

I have two: one titanium and one stainless. Excellent revolvers.

PS: the titanium model I bought off of Davidson's and the stainless was at my local gunshop.

I've owned one for about 2 years now. I bought it at a gun show here in Tampa. I couldn't resist the $250.00 price tag for a NIB Taurus 651B.

The only thing I changed was to get the Taurus "combat" grips from the Taurus site (see the attached pic). It made a WORLD of difference in my ability to control the gun and hardly hurt the ability to conceal it.

Keep searching. It's REALLY out there!

Take care.

I got it used at a pawn/gun shop. You could hardly tell it was used. The trigger is pretty good in my book.

i have to hand it to Taurus. if youre going to put an unnecessary internal lock on a gun, do so like Taurus. it is designed so that it can not engage itself during recoil like some folks who shoot s&w have stated happning to them.

too small & too light for magnum use; porting shoots flame upward and low light/dusk/dark blindness occurs; fireball too big; boom too loud; recoil too much; short barrel negates the advantage of magnums over specials~~:cuss:
IMHO, this is why there are not alot of these around!

Most (if not all) of the newer Taurus snub nose revolvers I have been seeing at gun shows and on the internet do not have porting. I think they finally realized that most folks don't like the idea of a ported snub.

As for the flame and recoil, you can always load them with specials; it is just nice to have the option. :D

Mine isn't ported. And for some reason it really isn't that bad to shoot with magnum loads, esp the lighter ones. Me and my friends were surprized at how accurate it was at longer ranges. It's a lot of fun to shoot but because it isn't as robust as my GP100 I don't shoot it as much. It's a carry gun not a fun gun, although that ball of fire that comes out of the muzzle is kind of fun.

I did a mini-review of my Ti 651 a while back on THR.
