Family Firearms Day..
That time again: 2nd Annual!

This year's event will once again be held at the Howell Gun Club, on May 20th, so mark your calendars.

The first time was great and we're looking for volunteers and even more families to make this one even better.

All firearms, ammunition, targets and food and beverages are supplied at no charge to families who want to bring their kids out for a great day of shooting and instruction.

Please print out some of these and post them around if you live in the area, and make sure your friends and family know about this.

We've had some great donations, including a great cash donation from Trijicon that will be used for food and prizes. We're also accepting donations of .22 and 20 ga. ammuniton and/or items that can be given away in drawings (books, ammo pouches, vests, hats, whatever you can think of..if you have something around the house that you bought and have never used, you could consider donating that.)

Thank you!

Bump!

Sorry Barbara. I'll be in WVA this weekend (fishing/camping). Looks like the rain might move out just in time!

SAFR Announces Free Family Firearms Day May 20th at the Howell Gun Club
Hillsdale, Michigan, May 17, 2006-

The Shooters' Alliance for Firearms Rights (SAFR) is offering their 2nd Annual Family Firearms Day on Saturday, May 20, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Howell Gun Club. This year’s sponsors include Ducks Unlimited, Gander Mountain, Trijicon, Prime Media, Ultimate Firearms, Howell Tae Kwon Do, Michigan Gun Owners and M2A.

Family Firearms Day is a free event designed to introduce families to the safe and fun use of firearms. All children who attend will be given a presentation on the safe handling of a firearm, as well as instruction on how to deal with firearms safety at home and when they are with their friends. Then they will have the opportunity to try out several shooting activities using .22 rifles, handguns and a modified version of trap shooting. Other activities that will be available include a Tae Kwon Do demonstration and prizes. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day for free as well.

All shooting activities will be supervised by NRA certified instructors. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate.
SAFR is an organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of Second Amendment rights. According to John Johnson, Vice-President of SAFR, "Family Firearm Day is our way of promoting safe, fun, family involvement in firearms rights issues."
