First let me say, I am not trying to convince anyone of anything, or start a big debate.... Just tiring to post a list of general pro's and Con's of these 2 types of rounds specifically in the P-32. This question seems to come up a lot, and while none of us can make the decision for anyone else, I would like to make a list of facts so everyone can make there own informed choice

here is what I have so far:

any one have anything to add? (also specific links to other related info pro or con).

Try www.ktog.org, the Kel-Tec owners' group. In the P-32 forum, do a search for "rimlock". You can also get a lot of other opinions concerning FMJ vs. HP. Good luck, and enjoy the pistol!

I carry my P-32 with Dynamite Noble FMJs. I think they are pretty hot and they are 100% reliable in my gun. They penetrate quite well in my home made test, mostly sheets of plywood. They will penetrate several times deeper than a .22lr and make a larger hole doing it so IMHO it is a much more leathal round than the .22lr.

I have some HPs and I have shot several boxes of them (all Win Silver Tips) and they have been reliable but the off chance of rimlock is reason enough not to use them, reliability is far more important than bullet shape when it comes the a pocket pistol like a P-32.

I think in a gun that has only one use, i.e. last ditch self defense, reliability is the number 1 most important thing. Neither the FMJ or the HP will likly go all the way through a person so might as well have as much penetration as you can in the little round. Also I carry the same ammo that I practice with so I have more confidence in it, if you can't afford to shoot your carry ammo, you should not carry it in your gun. If you haven't put a least a few hundred rounds of carry ammo through your gun without a single jam, you really shouldn't trust it.

I am in favor of FMJs for the little .32.
