I was looking at a Dan Wesson 357 with a 2 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch barrel, barrel tool, and guage. They were asking 450 for it. I was considering buying it until I really checked it out.
Upon closer inspection, I noticed that one of the chambers in the cylinder was threaded in about 3/16 of a inch from the barrel side. The threads were barely noticable, but definately were there.
Can anyone think of any reason that someone would thread the end of one of the chambers, as I cannot imagine why they would do this.
I was not interested in the gun after I noticed this.

It's not unusual to find DWs with tooling marks in the chambers, often resembling threads. While they don't often intrude into the throats, I've seen at least one other that did.

If they were just in the chamber proper, they wouldn't be a big deal. In the throat, however, such irregularities will adversely affect accuracy and you were correct in passing on the deal.

Chamber irregularities are most commonly found on Palmer guns, though I've seen them on very late Monsons as well.

I wonder if someone just screwed the barrel in too far...
