Any advice on the Puma lever action in .45c or .454 Casull ?I have read that that the .454 can also shoot.45lc, there is a nice new stainless one just waiting for a new home...Thanks

Buddy of mine has a stainless Puma .454, and it does indeed shoot .45lc.
Nice, light handy rifle. Solid and reliable.
The recoil is pretty stout when shooting full house .454 Casull, so the recoil pad is a must.

If you shoot .45 LC's, make sure you don't have build-up in the front of the chamber. I've read that you can raise pressures substantially and the .454 is a high pressure round anyway
I had a .454 Puma but was going to use 45's mainly so I sold it and got the .45 LC version.

I hate Rossi (have seen wayyy too many problems with Rossi handguns...their rifles may be great, but I have been biased by now).
I want Marlin to make a .460 lever gun. Rebarrel/chamber a 45-70 guide gun or something. Sell it for $600 or so. Do it and I'll buy yesterday.

I am not sure if the navy arms rifles are chambered for the 454 or not.what I do know is NA uses better wood and the finish on them is alot better than the others that use the rossi action.

There's a nice little review on gunblast.com by Paco Kelly, IIRC. The Casull will indeed be stout in such a light little rifle. I have a B92 and full-house .44 Mag loads do a good job of communicating with the shooter. Full-house .454 C loads will go at about half again the pressure...not sure whether the energy figures go up proportionately (probably not), but you will know it when you fire it. :D
