What would you pay for a new in the box 629 classic. This gun
does not have the internal lock. The dealer said it is one of the
last few without the lock. It is a 83/8 barrel which I am looking
for. the price is $545 plus tax. what do you think? thanks for
your help.

I'd buy it at that price if it's actually new in the box. You might be able to find a like new in box model for less if you shopped around long enough and hard enough, but that doesn't impress me as a bad price.

I paid $586 for one three years ago or so, and it was money very well spent.
