OK, this isnt exactly 'black powder' but, its at least partly.

I have big hands. I have a Pietta clone 1860, and I have a 1st gen saa and a couple of Taurus Gauchos.
I was playing around with stocks last night, and found that the screw holes for mounting the trigger guard and backstrap assemblies match on the SAA's and the 1860.
Does anyone know how easy it is to retrofit an 1860 grip assembly to an SAA??
Looking at Numrich, its gonna cost over $120 just to get the trigger guard/wood/backstrap. Does anyone know of a cheaper place to get the replacements?

Thanks for help in advance.

I do believe that all the screw spacings are the same.

Just change them out, see what you get.

I have done the same with a 51 and a 60 and different manufacturers. Screwed right on.

Cheers,

George

There's a guy on Ebay: model88man I think that sells unfinished wood grips starting at 9.99. That's a good price.

You could simply sand it down until you get what you want out of it.

First link is to the grip for the 1851/1861/etc., while the second is to further parts. These are unfinished grips, though.
