Is Taurus Tracker An Excellent 22LR Target Revolver?

I was highly considering the TT 22LR as an alternative and change-of-pace to
using my semi-automatic Ruger Mark II competition target model at an indoor
range. However I do have some concerns including the reportedly heavy trigger pull unconfirmed to be over 10lbs. on double-action and 5.5 lbs. on single-action. Also, some report the action to be rougher than many others,
which they say is caused by the internal parts not being finished and polished.
Am I too sensitive or are these legitimate concerns?
I am open to and sollicit your suggestions. Thank you.

i bought a TT .22 LR a couple of months ago. and to answer your questions:

Yes, the double action trigger pull can be a bit heavy, especially if you arent used to it. but i only really use it in Single Action.

Yes, the single action trigger pull is a little heavy, if youre used to say a ruger MK II or other lighter trigger.

No, my TT is fairly smooth. ive noticed no grinding or gritty feeling when working the trigger. i have been softly dryfiring it, with my thumb on the hammer to soften the hits.

You can order a Wolf brand Spring kit for it and monkey around with different springs for the trigger and hammer. just be warned that if you lighten up the hammer spring too much you may get light strikes and failures to fire.

Me , im gonna leave my gun stock regarding the springs. however, i didnt like the "Ribber" type grips it came with, too soft and mushy, so i ordered a set from Hogue. i really like the new Hogue grips much better. I really like the two handed grip balance of this gun, feels real natural and the weight forward design helps me steady it well.

I have the stainless steel version, got it for about $340, i see that the store i bought mine at now has some that are blued for $299.

Im shooting CCI Velocitors out of it to get the most velocity out of the 6 1/2" barrel. Now, the Velocitors wont expand out of a handgun barrel but i guess the hollowpoints would act more like a flat nose Small Game Bullet. Im dying to try to go hunting with mine.

I have an Uncle Mikes Sidekick black nylon holster size #9, for 7-8 1/2 " barrels single action revovlers. it fits great, no problems.
Good Luck! -Eric

The tracker is alright for all around shooting, but I would not consider it a target
shooter.
The Smith and Wesson 617 or a 17 are pretty good shooters. I shoot target with my 617. The 617 is stainless and has a full lug on the barrel. The 17 is the blue version and most do not have a full lug, but I have seen several that did.
They are both available in different barrel lengths.
The problem is that the 17 has not been made for years, the 617 is still available.
Just my 2 cents worth.

If by "target" you mean competition shooting, then the Tracker is not going to give you the accuracy you need. For most casual shooting the Tracker will do everything you ask of it.
