The Student government voted to install a memorial to 5 alumni Congressional Medal winners based on feedback from this forum as well as many others locally and around the country. The meeting was held last night with the vote taken. No formal minutes or news stories have been released yet.

A big THUMBS UP!

If a young man (pappy was 28 when he got the nickname -- the other guys were much younger, I guess) leads a rag-tag bunch of troublemakers and turns them into a squadron who blasted more Japs out of the sky than anyone else, he deserves a memorial!:D

Good. Do you have a link to the "official" source of that information?

There isn't one yet other than me.:neener:

I heard it on am radio on my way to work. I looked for minutes on the meeting and they have not been posted yet and I also checked Seattle Times web site and nothing yet as well.

It still needs to go through some kind of process but the Student Senate passed it which is where all the trouble started.

This is recorded audio from the morning show. You will link to it on the mid-right of the page "Hear Audio Now" or something like that.http://www.komoradio.com/news/story.asp?ID=42780

Not that you want to listen to Ken Schram (another THR thread) go on about gun control in the first part of the segment but it does confirm the revote and approval of the Memorial in the second segment. It is all I could find so far.

Ken Schram link for reference:
