Has anyone here ever dealt with Rio Ammunition. There's a store here in town that's going out of business and they're selling shells by the case. The price on them isn't that great now, but I think in a few weeks there's a good chance the cases will be half price.

I'm relatively new to wingshooting and shotgunning, I've never heard of this brand and wanted to see if anyone else had ever shot them before...

Thanks!

The Rio ammo that I have shot is pretty good stuff, economy target ammo kind of like Estates. You should be able to get it for $34-$38 a flat, amybe less, I don't know if it's reloadable, but at that price you can let it lay.

Ok, well maybe I'll wait until the price drops a good bit and buy some. I'd just never heard of the stuff. :D

A friend gave me a box when I ran out on a dove hunt. Might as well have sat down and had a beer. At least a beer would have been killed.

I classify it in the "crap" department.

I will comment that it has been about 5 years since I have shot any RIO ammo. No one in my area has it right now that I know of. It very well could have been a fluke that the few boxes of target ammo that I used were pretty good stuff in 12 gauge.

I had a few cases of Rio 12g a couple years ago and had no problems. Reasonably good and cheap. I was breaking clay with my Beretta 390, skeet and sporting clays just for fun and practice.
