I'm looking for load data for 124gr Hornady XTP in 9mm for W231. Can't seem to find any on the web.

I think I have some info at home on 231 but the best powder I found for this bullet in my 9mm's is Bluedot. I'm talking real small groups at 25 yds.

How does this sound from Ramshot Powder Co.
Silhouette pistol powder is specifically formulated to match the NATO standard 9mm round, and will perform equally well in both .40 S & W and .45 Auto. Silhouette is a clean-burning, high-velocity powder with very low muzzle flash.

Suggest starting at 4.0 grains of WW231. Max charge of WW231 with bullets of this weight is typically 4.5 grains.
If you haven't already picked up the powder, I'd suggest looking at PowerPistol. Start at 6.0 grains and work your way up. 6.7 grains is a typical max. load. I really like PowerPistol in 9mm and .357 Sig loads.
Both sets of data listed use an OAL of 1.125 inches.
Don't want to guess, call Hornady directly on the 800 number listed on their website. Listening to their phone menu is worth the call. They have and will furnish any data you desire concerning the performance of their product with various powders. Very good people to deal with.

I loaded a batch of 124 XTPs with 4.2 grains of Titegroup awhile back. Nice load, medium recoil.

I have gone as high as 5.4 gr 231 with 124 gr bullet for 1200 fps. I used 5.0 gr as a regular load for a few years. As always, start low and work up. An earlier suggestion of 4.0 gr start would be good.

My old standard load was 4.5gr 231 at 1.12" OAL.
I have since decided that 231's pressure peaks too quickly and have switched to WSF... which I now think is too slow.
There's just no pleasing me.

I have switched a lot of my loads to Winchester WST. Similar to 231 but takes up more case space and is cleaner burning.
