Taurus Compact = Colt D frame ?

Taurus doesn't use the J, K, etc.; designations of S&W. Although their 'small' model is ABOUT the same size as a S&W J-frame. Their 7-shot compact models are smaller than the S&W K-frame. Would they be about the same size as a Colt D-frame?

Bigger? Smaller?

I would compare the Taurus 617 to the Colt Magnum Carry.
