Hi, Just recently picked up a Rossi M971 SS 2 1/2" barrel . My ? is what revolver is this a copy of . Shot some Winclean .38's and some .357 HPs I had around and the gun functions great. Recoil was not a problem even with rapid fire of the .357 rounds . Shot where it was aimed . Thanks ahead of time ..............WVleo

My guess is that it's a copy of a taurus wheelgun, but I'd have to do some more research before I'd be sure.

as for "what copy", i heard a story, whether true or not ? ? ?

Smith and Wesson opened a plant in Brazil. about the time every thing was up and ready, the Brazillian govt. seized the plant for the state. sent SnW personnel packing. kept the machinery. Rossi was born. i would not remotely claim this to be the truth.

does sound about right for how things go south of Texas.

mine sure looks like a Smith.
