Ive been looking for a holster for duty, need it by the 24th of this month. Why cant i seem to find a kydex, belt looped, Thumb break, holster, for a sig P226?! Its the simpleist holster, and i cannot find one anywhere. Yes, bladetech makes one, but i dont have the 5-6 weeks to wait while they make it.

Try asking a local dealer to order you an Uncle Mike's #5522-1, which is their RH straight-drop Kydex belt holster with thumb-break. It should only cost around $20.00. A dealer with a PC should be able to check their wholesalers for inventory while you wait, otherwise they may have to make a few phone calls.

The only problem you may face is that this holster is designed for plainclothes CCW, and the belt loops may not fit a 2" wide duty belt. If you can live with that, it'll get the job done - I've got a couple of Uncle Mike's kydex holsters myself, and they work fine for IDPA matches.

Sounds like a number of Safariland models would fit your requirements. Shouldn't be hard to find a stocking dealer online.

Dan Hillsman Holsters

BearClaw Holsters

I have holsters from each, and each got the holster to my door within seven days. Like others here, I have waited four months for holsters from other makers. BearClaw Holsters and Dan Hillsman seems to combine great quality with speedy delivery.

I still have a special place in my heart for Leather ... but Kydex does have great practicality. Hope this helps.

Safariland model 200.
The belt loops are not Kydex though.
It is a steel shank covered in the same material as the holster finish.

The Holster is kydex though.

The Fine Tac finish is a bare kydex holster.
