These guys make us all look bad - was at the Creek this past weekend...

Yeech. There was a guy selling the prerequisite coffee mugs with pix of dead nazis, wearing a Wotan Volk t-shirt, buncha reichcrap shirts for sale, etc... Also a bit of klucker stuff on another table... Yech.

There's the valid history stuff all over the place, but it's these few folks who really destroy things.

I wouldn't worry to much as I'm sure the market for these item's isn't widespread. As I was explaining on another forum when some folks were getting all upset about the Skinheads, Neo-Nazis and KKK that there probably aren't 5000 of them in the U.S. if that many. I've met some of these folks and they're incredibly stupid.

I'm all for free speech, but in any type of event where the organizers have discretion about who is allowed to present booths, these guys should be banned. I stopped going to gun shows in part because I hate seeing them.

I've met a few over the years, too. Without exception, they had no sense of humor. Strange people.

Sapient, having great wisdom and discernment. My word for the day. (Yesterday was "sporulate". It is amazing what you learn here on THR.)

Yeah but not all of them are dumb. Some are intelligent, educated and articulate. Those are the ones to watch out for.

It must be some kind of frustration, anger at the world, lack of self esteem, something like that that drives them.

Oh well, if they are weak, I laugh at them, if they become strong, I will shoot at them.

For now, yes, there are probably only a few thousand real believers and active sympathizers in the country. That number would need to be multiplied by a thousand for them to have any power in the US.

Well at least the play Nazis are not tenured professors at our elite Universities like the lefty socialists, Nazis and Commies. At least worry about the nuts who do hold some power. :what:

"Yeah but not all of them are dumb. Some are intelligent, educated and articulate. Those are the ones to watch out for."

Those are the 1% at the top of the pyramid scheme, living off of the welfare and SSI checks of the other 99%.

They are invariably cowards, and often pedophiles.

They've been posting my address, phone number, and even maps to my house in usenet for years. The funny thing is, even though these things are always accompanied by death threats, they never EVER seem to be able to follow their own directions to my location. Must have something to do with the AR carbine and the stack(s) of loaded 30 rounders they know are waiting for them. Damned shame too. I've always wondered what the Great Northfield Minnesota Raid would have been like if the townspeople had had Glocks and AR15s... :D

Getting back to the OP's point. Nazis may be distasteful to you, but they have as much right to all the same rights you and I would have. And, that includes freedom of speech. Nothing depends on political correctness, coolness, or even personal hygiene.

I know neo nazis. I'm not one. But, I would rent them space at a flea market or wherever they wanted since taking away one american's freedom is taking away my own. Likewise for denying someone entrance due to politics.

I grew up in Chicago, which had a small, but vocal, nazi group. Some people tolerated them, figuring they balanced equally unsavory sorts like Black Panthers & Jesse Jackson. (Myself, I never figured "bad + bad = good")

A couple of decades ago I encountered their then-leader, one Frank Collin, as he was standing on a street corner passing out hate literature with a couple of his brownshirts. Several police officers were standing around to maintain order, including some black officers. (BTW, the guy reminded me a little of Barney Fife with a bad complexion.)

As I walked past, he said words along the lines of "Sir, do you know how the Jews and N*****s are ruining this country?" as he tried to hand me some literature.

Without breaking stride, I said "F*** you, nazi" and continued on my way. (Cop laughed - said he's glad to see the nazi was getting a lot of that.)

The nazi leader didn't even blink - he was used to hearing what I said.
They are invariably cowards, and often pedophiles.Postscript: Some years later, after I'd already left Chicago, my folks sent me a news clipping from a local paper. This Aryan Superman, the LEADER of the local nazi pack, had just been sentenced to jail for molesting little boys.

The summer I got back to Chicago after I got out of the Army, Frank Collin was arrested for molesting a male mental patient at the private hospital where he worked. He was convicted and did jail time.

Its sad when you see a lot of these groups advocating freedom from government oppression wearing the same uniforms and emulating one of the most oppressive governments in the history of man. I HATE Illinois Nazis.

If I'm ever confronted with a neo-Nazi trying to "sell" me, I've got a little conversation stored up.

I'm going to regale him with all the "great" Nazi and SS stuff that was found in my great-uncle's estate after he died. It was really impressive. A swastika armband, "deaths-head" & SS pins, SS dagger, a Luger, some German medals, the works…

Yeah..., apparently he shot up a couple of SS officers in WWII to get it.

I've never had the chance to use it, yet… :D

I haven't been to a gun show in WI lately, but when I did attend, the "Nazi Guy" always had enough other WWII memorabelia to give it at least a veneer of legitimacy. :scrutiny:

I used to think that the vast majority of them were real knuckledraggers, and they probably are. But what unnerved me once was doing a search for something in reference to Lord of the Rings and getting a hit on Stormfront.org. I went there, and was shocked to find a very literate discussion of Tolkein's works, albiet one that was seen through a looking glass to Bizarro world. It was like they could perform a pretty decent literary analysis of the books, and then would leap to some whacko conclusion that lines up with their ideology.

While the latter can be done by anyone, the former takes at least a modicum of intelligence and insight (even if you take the pessimistic view that they were lifting from other people's reviews, you need to be able to string things together in order to be coherent).

It was shocking and disappointing. They're not all stupid and misguided. Some of them are intelligent and evil.

Yup - the socialists who have a stranglehold on the world of academia and the mainstream media present 10,000 times more of a threat to the Bill of Rights - and our right to arms in particular - than do a few scattered ignorant losers wearing swastikas or bedsheets.

Strange thing about Jews and blacks - when I was in the military, I learned that they bleed red, just like whites.

Youre seriously under estimating people that CAN NOT be under estimated.

People laugh now yes, but they laugh like people laughed at Hitler in the 20's, and look how that ended up. I am a bit extreme when it comes to dealing with anyone proclaiming themselves to be National Socialists\Nazis.

I dont believe in equal rights on their part. Though I am a strong endorser(Is that even a word ) of the American Constitution and the freedoms it grants to people living under it.

I look at it this way, and it can be summed up quite easily.

"Dont give them freedom because theyre not going to give you yours" (Gunsmith may recognize that line)

I dont believe in giving people that with the right numbers can easily take advantage of the freedom I gave them to not give me the same right back. Its like shooting myself in the face and I refuse to buy into it.

Honestly, why should I give people freedom that when theyre in the same position wont give me?

I don't believe as a country we have rescinded our position that the Nazi party is our enemy. So when I see someone regaling themselves with National Socialist patches and speech, I recall those in my family who died fighting them, and the many brothers of our country who did, and think of them in the same light as they did.

merk, I see your point.

However when you persecute Nazis you elevate them to the same status as other "oppressed" groups ... you make martyrs of them and you end up SPREADING their cause.

Best thing to do with Nazis is leave them out in the open with the light shining down on them and we can all see them for the evil idiots they are.
