I have a 30-06 that someone told me is a Spanish Mauser built in the 70s. It shoots great and I really like this gun but the bolt has some stains, that I think is rust, on it I just can't get them out no matter how much I clean it. Is there something I can use to get rid of these stains?

Try a pencil eraser. Worked for me in the past, and boesn't hurt the finish.

Next more abrasive up from a pencil eraser is an ink eraser.
After that there are a variety of metal polishes.

Birchwood-Casey Sheath and 0000 steel wool works wonders.

So does Flitz.

Good luck, and be patient.:)

(possibly a fine wire brush), 0000 steel wool, followed by Flitz or something similar, followed by white rouge and a buffing wheel. Should look like new.
