I plan on rechambering a model 7. Does anyone know offhand if the thread size for the bbls is the same for the model 700 (where the bbl threads into the action), and also if the 7 action will fit into a 700 stock and bolt up properly? I know the bbl contours are different, but that will be changed anyway. I just need to know if it will bolt up to a 700 stock properly. Thanks a bunch.

I emailed Remington a while back asking similar questions. Basically, they said they do not recommend rebarreling the rifle. ??? No explanation as to why. Anyway, after looking at the cost I figured I could get another Model 7for the same amount of money as the rebarrel job. YMMV

Duck:
The barrel shank and thread's are the same.
The action of the M-7 is shorter than the M-700 short action so the stock won't fit. There is a difference in the rear stock bolt as well.
The M-600/660 is even shorter than the M-7 and the trigger shoe is placed different so that stock won't interchange either.

Thanks for the replies. Since I can't find a bolt anywhere (with the proper rim face), I decided it would be a lot easier just to buy an action (or a complete ADL for cheap) and go from there. Thanks all.
