My last Marlin (1895G) was almost MOA at 100 yards. Might've just been my shooting holding it back, too...

Don't like buckhorn sights much. Aperture sights on both would be more to my liking.

There's a considerable difference in the two barrels. Long micro groove vs carbine. Both with open sights.

But I've recently upgraded the trigger on the Ruger so we'll see how that helps. I've seen some spring kits for the Glenfield, but not a whole trigger upgrade. -Now that's depressing for such an accurate little rifle.

Funny you ask this, since I have one of each, and since I 'found' a Bushnel 3x9 in the gun room the other day. I was figuring on putting the scope on the 10/22 for the helluvit.

I was going to start a thread about 10/22 accuracy. Stock barrels vs some of the tricked out rifles. Mainly I'm looking to see if it's worth putting the scope on the stock barrel or not. I had a buddy that could hit a golf ball at 100yds with his stock/scoped 10/22 all day long. I hope to have that accuracy. If I do with mine, my visions of thumbhole stock and fancy fluted 1" stainless barrel will fly out the window.

My 39M outshot my 10/22 on a regular basis (and the 10/22 is scoped). though i think the marlin having a heavier barrel played into this.
