A sad, but amazing story, out of South Africa where 20 (yes, 20) armed dirtbags shot and killed two security guards who were protecting some designer suits.

Here's the story:

Designer-shop burglars gun down two guards

Two security guards have been murdered in what police believe is a criminal syndicate that specifically targets men's designer suits.

The guards were gunned down on Sunday morning as they tried to prevent 20 heavily armed men from robbing the exclusive Sandton men's store Euro Suit. The robbers fled with tailored suits worth more than R500 000.

Armed with AK-47 and R-5 assault rifles and driving in a BMW, a VW Citi Golf, a Colt 4x4, an Opel Corsa and a Toyota Hilux - all without registration plates - the robbers stormed into Euro Suit, at the corner of Protea and Rivonia roads, at about 3am.

Joburg police Captain Mashadi Selepe said the robbers broke the security gate and the front door to gain entry.

"The suspects took clothing, mainly tailored suits, to the value of more than R500 000," she said, adding that while the robbery was in progress, a security guard in the building's basement managed to activate a panic button.

SAS Security guards rushed to the scene. A 40-year-old guard, who was the first at the scene, was shot at. The guard managed to speed off into a nearby residential area, but the robbers pursued him and shot him three times. He died at the scene of the shooting.

"The second guard, aged 33, arrived at the scene and a shootout ensued," Selepe said. He, too, was killed.

The guards could not be named because their next of kin had not yet been informed of their deaths.

Police found more than 50 spent cartridges at the scene, and the 33-year-old security guard's vehicle was peppered with 37 bullet holes. The two firearms belonging to the security guards were stolen.

From the way the robbery was orchestrated, police suspect it was carried out by a syndicate.

"It is not the first time there has been a robbery in the area where an exclusive shop, selling designer clothing, has been robbed," said Selepe.

No arrests had been made in connection with the violent heist by Sunday night.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Captain Diedericks on 082-809-1905 or Inspector Booysens on 083-300-8381.

:( :( :(

By the way, R500,000 is only about $65,000 in US dollars

Can any South African THR members shed more light on this terrible incident?

May they rest in peace and may the POS who killed them suffer the same fate. Only so that everyone will know they are lowlifes and have no honor. They killed MEN doing their job. These criminals should die because they are worthless animals.

I offer condolences to the families of the guards.

This group of hoodlums are a syndicate? Sounds more like a pack of rabid dogs to me.

Wait, doesn't South Africa have strict gun control laws? Well then theres been some mistake, this couldn't have happend. Baaaa, humbug!!!!!! The criminals killed two men hired to protect clothes, then STOLE their guns.
That says it right there. ANTI GUN LAWS DO NOT WORK!

What Cool9mm says. They followed the guard after he fled and shot him afterwards. Geez. Death penalty should be liberally applied.

Wait, doesn't South Africa have strict gun control laws?

Yeah, they have "strict vehicle control" laws too, but the criminals used "unregistered" vehicles to escape.
