Howa stock question

At some point I was told that a stock that fits a Remington Long Action bolt rifle will also work with a Howa 1500. Anybody know if that is so?

I don't believe it is. Looking in the Brownells catalog, stocks have a different part number for the Remingtons than the part number for the Howa/Weatherby Vanguard. The Weatherby Vanguard stock is the same as the Howa.

The receivers are a different shape, the rem is a round body and the howa is a flat bottom(like a mauser).that's the most difference anyway.

I kinda arrived at the same conclusion. If they were the same or interchangeable, it would say so. Thanks!

anything can be made to fit if the fit is close enough, the main things that make it impossible is the front and rear action screw hole spacing and bottom metal shape.
If the hole spacing is the same than the bottom metal space can be worked with.
But there are plenty of stocks being made still for Mauser actions, prices are all over the board on these with all different types of bedding built in.
