My Harrington & Richardson Model 923 .22 revolver split its barrel today, so I my gun collection is less one functioning firearm:(
Oh well, at least the gun grabbers did not get her...

Hmmm, hard to believe something as relatively weak as a 22 (compared to magnum center-fire caliber) would have split for no reason such as an obstruction in the barrel. We didn't do something unsmart did we?

No, did not do anything stupid like plugging the barrel or anything- just regular plinking with factory ammo. Wish I had a digital camera to show you- it split from muzzle to rear of barrel in an almost perfectly straight line. Mind you, its not a huge split or anything like that- just enought to be all the way through- I am shocked myself.

Numrich shows that they have 923 barrels for $25, but they don't specify the length. Might be worth a phone call...

Please get ahold of a camera. I have never seen a .22 split the barrel. Even with a bore obstruction, it will generally only ring the barrel. That had to have been a bad piece of steel to start with to split like that. Not saying it couldn't happen, but...wow, that was just really bad luck.
