hey guys,
i swear i saw this online. anyone have one of these. i like the old, blue 586s and i was under the impression they quit making them years ago.
anyone seen, shot or hopefully own one of these? if so, please tell me about it. i know it probably has the darn lock on it but i think i could overlook that if they are a nice revolver.
thank you,
mike

Yup, you probably did see one. Smith and Wesson did a run of 4" and 6"-barreled seven-shot 586s for Jerry's Sports Center last year or the year before. I had the chance to handle one. Beautiful gun.

shear stress (or anyone else familiar with this revolver),
i have seen pics and they look great. how do they handle and, if available anywhere, what is a resonable price, not the "steal" we all hope for, but just a reasonable price?
thanks,
mikem

Mick, I just bought one. My dealer said they were a special run. He had 6 of them. They have sweet grips and a case color trigger and hammer. They do have the lock. Mine shoots low with the 38s I'm using. It cost 500 bucks or so.

Ditto, I picked on up last year for just under 600. Its really nice looking, glossy blue and nice grips. So far its been relegated to safe queen status so I havent shot it yet. This one's not mine, but identical to it.

Where can I get grips like those? I checked the S&W site and they don't seem to offer them. It's for a round-bottom 686.

I just bought an L-Comp for too much money which is a 586 and worth every penny the way it shoots, lock and semi-polished finish and all. It is not a safe queen.
