Trying to determine the best scope base for a new Savage 12BVSS. Will likely take a 5-15x40 style scope for varminting and bench rest.
Would like comments on the styles available such a 1-piece base, 2-piece base, and Weaver style 1 and 2-piece bases.
Why might I choose one style over another? Does a 2-piece base make loading easier?
If you had it to do, what base would you choose? As a side question, what rings would you add to the chosen base?
Any systems I should really just plain and simply stay away from?
