How do you grip, loose or tight?

I've gripped wheelguns, and autos differently for years, but after shooting a friends' compact glock 357SIG, I must say grip requirements are more varied than I thought.
If your grip varies with gun and conditions, please specify what conditions make that change necessary.

I try to have the trigger hand gripping as light as possible to improve trigger pull. The off hand provides a firmer grip.

I can't figure out why I shoot so much better DA one handed than SA two handed with my S&W M686, but one handed with a relatively loose grip is how I shoot best.

I would describe my grip as a "medium" grip. Not too hard or limp

Dead weasel. Movement from recoil pivots the shoulders up, easy motion to recover onto target, can't stand gun squirrelling around in my hand.

Light to medium grip. If I strangle it like a weasel I can't keep a steady sight. With some guns I do shoot better one-handed.

I like a light to medium grip but I do shoot better when I grip it hard but not so hard as to cause shakes. When I don't think about it, I have a rather loose grips by some standards but it seems the more I shoot the firmer I grip the gun naturally, that must be why I am getting better at pistol shooting latly.
I have a FM Detective that jamms if I hold it to tightly, I have to force myself to use a loose grip on it.

Same as Firestar. I grip it firmly, but not so much that my hands shake (they do that already ;) . That's the grip for target shooting.
For combat shooting practice, the grip is firmer to allow for faster target reacquisition.

I squeeze my handguns until the front site starts to lighty shake, then i lighten up my grip until it stops..
It works for me..;)

Medium generally with a bias to firm. I have always been fortunate to have a reasonably ''independant'' trigger finger and so can grip quite tight. I like good control, without inducing any shakes.
I do tho with Weaver for example .. use a lot of weak hand grip and achieve considerable ''lock up'' that way .... with off hand shooting I do lighten my grip noticeably ..... a more ''laid back'' kinda hold.

The grip I use depends upon the gun in use.

Loose or tight? Yes. I go extremely loose when I'm shooting bullseye. But somehow my grip goes to dead weasel when I'm scared to death.

Grip as hard as I can. I know I have the same tension shot to shot that way.

As loose as I can while still maintaining control of the gun. I've found that a tight grip increases muzzle flip, screws up my shot-to-shot split time, and makes me tend to shoot low/left flyers.

Firm, but not a strangle hold :)
