That situation sounds quiet.......TOO quiet! I'd grab my Daewoo, Beta-C mag, and bayonet (can't be too careful), a 1911 on my belt, my 1903 in a shoulder holster, and my .308 scout rifle slung on my back. :p

When I don't need to actually be armed I carry my P32.:neener:

I hate to further drift on this extremely-serious thread :p but I would grab my super-un-tactical home-made crossbow... the one I've never had any bolts for. But do notice the cut-out cheek piece - a custom touch. ;)

Or if I'm feeling a bit more stealthy, I might nab my $40 Meijer close-out Marksman Official Olympic Trainer pellet rifle. Note the uber-tactical stock, the uber-high end 2.5x BSA scope that is more translucent than transparent and the uber-smithed trigger the breaks clean at about 12 lbs. It's also in small enough caliber that even Wild Romanian might approve. :D

Dunno, its that quiet before the storm thing. Maybe having raised sibs and dogs. When "nothings happening" either they are asleep or into something--usually the later.;)

First I'd grab my helmet - In preparation for possible photo ops at Knob Creek this spring, I layered it with a few sheets of (shiny side out) aluminum foil!

Even when it's "quiet" I still sleep with one or more 1911's and since I'm prone to day dreaming....I keep them around all day too.

In the back of my truck lately (although not at this moment) has been a Rem 870 Wingmaster and a Browning O/U for Trap and Skeet (although the 870's 20" HD/PD barrel is also in the case) and a S&W Mod 629 for GP. The 629 may be replaced by a 1911 type, but two shotguns and a PD handgun is pretty standard truck carry for me lately.

I try to address this daily irrational craving by keeping them in rotation so I don't wear any particular one out by lavishing too much attention on it.

I have noticed lately that the ARs are getting pulled out of the safe a lot and the shotgun is being neglected. Handguns get their turns, but the ARs keep budging to the front.

A good single action revolver is always best, when i don't have to shoot anything in a hurry, or be to tatical.

Those threads cracked me up. Good to laugh at ourselves sometimes. My stand-by mode weapon would be five feet of rubber tubing made into a sling. In Sapada, the western, they lay on their backs and put their feet into the loops to form a slingshot. Ammo was bolts, nuts, balls, rocks, anything handy. Pretty fun stuff.
