The Trijicon sights on my Glock 23 are 11 years old and are dimming sonewhat. Can the tritium vials be replaced or do I need a new set of sights installed? I realize that I can't drop into the local emporium and pick up a six pack of tritium but does anyone know if Trijicon offers a replacement service?

Thanks

Drue

I believe they do, IIRC they are datecoded and they are warrantied w/in 12 years, don't know if you have to be the original purchaser or if the product itself is warrantied?

www.trijicon.com look for their FAQ or contact us page or something. I called them a coupple times over the last month.

Either way you'll get a new set of sights.;)

Do like Skunk suggested and contact them.

The newer Trijicon sights I've seen have a nice white outline around the Tritium tubes, for good daylight work. If I recall right, earlier Trijicons lacked that, or at least they weren't as bright or otherwise visible...sorta like Trijicon was influenced by Ashley :).

Looking at some new Trijicons will tell you for sure and if I'm right, it might be worth upgrading to the newer type.

I've heard that Trijicon will replace the tubes. Tritium's half-life is abt 12 yrs, so they should be abt 1/2 as bright as when you got them. Sounds like you're right on schedule.

I've been really happy w/ the Trijicons I've used. Yeah, give their CS a call as Skunk suggests. From my experience, they're a good Co. to del with ;)

My G23's Trijicons are 12 years old and doing fine for me....
I've had Trijicon inserts installed in other plain sights before...

I really, really like these a lot..........

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies! I e mailed Customer Service at Trijicon, as you all suggested. I received a polite reply stating that the tritium lamps were indeed warranted for 12 years from the date of manufacture as stamped on the rear sight and that they would be happy to replace them under the warranty at no charge. Should a customer want the lamps replaced after the warranty period, the charge would be $18 per lamp or $54 for a set of three.

Thanks again

if your glasses and scope lenses need cleaning, so do your tritium sights. and you dont spray CLP on the glasses and lenses. a little windex on a cue tip spun around in there with the dry end used to finish it up works wonders, just like on your glasses.

my oldest set, '88s, are still useable. no doubt they will need replacing in a couple more years.

last set i bought, i got the green front and yellow rear. not again. for me, the all green is faster. just my .02 on that.

The Glock 23 has been around for 12 years?... Man I'm gettin' old! I remember the very first G23 that arrived at my then-preferred shop got in.
