The hometown forum guys are having a "Blastfest" at Buffalo Range in Ottawa Illinois on Sunday the 23rd.
I know many have a low view of AR15.com but let me say these are a bunch of good folks. The Illinois guys/gals I have met from the site are top notch people.
If you are friendly and ask questions inevitably they will offer to let you run some rounds through their gun. I have had the chance to fire more types of rifles than I can remember and have let many shoot my AR to check out the EOTech.

Buffalo Range has a 50/75/100 yard covered sighting in range. Shotgun field with mechanical throwers. Dedicated pistol range and of course the PIT.
