Humorous homemade gun posters
jrfoxx
April 19, 2006, 02:36 PM
Let me start out by saying these were done with the intention of being humorous and that is their sole purpose. (*disclaimer* :))
This one is based on my frequently made joke around my house whenever the wife or kid asks why I want/need more guns/ammo, or are cleaning them after taking like 10 of them shooting in the same day.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b289/jrfoxx/revolution.jpg
This one came to me while listening to R.E.M while driving to work last night, I thought it was kinda funny.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b289/jrfoxx/endoftheworld.jpg
Hope these had at least a little entertainment value :)

I might have done something like military time (O'nine-hundred) for the first, but regardless, they're both pretty damn funny. :)

A few years ago, outside of my local police station there was a poster of the first model Colt 1911 and a notice to all gun-owners to hand in their pistols by a date -I can't quite remember was-in 1998. I have a poster idea for the UK:Bring your personal weapons to defeat the anti-gunners and reclaim your banned weapons,by restoring their legality.

Hah!
I'm not all that genious. I read something similar by a poster on GlockTalk...
I think he was trying to come up with certain slogans, and his idea for the Glock .40 was something along those lines.
Forgot to credit him in my post, so here we go: BowHunter252, thanks. =p
Edit: Oh snap. Didn't realise there was a site that'd do all the work for you.

"Are you Professional enough?"
Brilliant!! :D
But I think the finishing touch is to show the pistol large at the front of the table (still need to see that ".40"), with the same quote, but have a bunch of boxes of gauze and medical tape out-of-focus way off in in the background! :D

I dunno.
I kind of liked the simplicity of it. =p
The pic is one I just found during a Google search.
I would agree that a larger one, more focused on the .40S&W would be nice.

I am 99% sure that the gun in the "Effectiveness" poster is a Browning Hi Power. The ejection port is more on the side of the slide, whereas with a 1911 it would be more on the top.

As for the Burger King poster, thats creepy. I can see how getting some sort of character to advertise their products like how Mcdonalds has a clown could work for them. Unfortunately the ad agency they hired to carry it out seems to be deranged. I have always preferred Burger King to Mcdonalds, with there current ads though I am going to Mcdonalds.

You should paint some fake wounds on yourself, and have some attached to you as well as swarming around.

Yes, that round is chambered. Finger off trigger, camera on remote timer, safe direction, etc. I know it's not as safe as it could be, but the only casualty would have been a digital camera...

For me anyway, race has nothing to do with that poster/video. If he had been white and did the same thing, it would still be mocked. Now it could appear racist to someone who has not seen the video, but with it even airing on the news lately with the lawsuit, I bet there are very few who haven’t seen it.

Beautiful, Hawken. I do not have a rifle, currently. The .30-06 Springfield, is one of the most effective and amazing rifle rounds ever. The M1 Garand, is one of the best rifles ever created. If I can only get/have one rifle, THIS is the one I want. Targets, hunting, defense: it does it ALL. It is an American round, and an American rifle. If fits right in with my love of the .45ACP handgun/pistol round. It WORKS.
.308 Winchester/7.62x51mm is also a good round, and the M14/M1A also WORKS. Cover to concealment, INDEED: .30-06 OR .308. I know our military has the .223 Winchester/5.52mm NATO long gun. Personally, I do not like it. I know many military veterans. That, they can live with; but, handgun... sidearm... the 9mm has NOT performed. I believe that the American military is going back to the 1911A1 in .45ACP. This is good.
Brush and obstructions eat the 5.52mm alive... the enemies of the world's 7.60x39mm (AK47), and the .30-06 and .308 (7.62x51mm)--all .30 calibers--function efficiently in those situations, as does the 12 gauge shotgun with 00 buckshot in steel or lead. My God, the M1 is a beautiful, functional, tough, solid rifle... heavy, yeah, 8 rounds, yeah... but, like our beloved .45 Autos, if the round works, you have need for less rounds. Amen.
Love these Garand posters. Come on, Texas Lotto... LOL...

That info about the regular M2 ball mil-spec in .30-06 is awesome. This venerable old round, like the .45ACP... when something works right the first time, it just works. Both these rounds thrive over the years, despite advances in ammunition and weapon technologies... Amen.
