Your Opinion on Accurate Rifles

I have a good selection of rifles. I am interested in buying a K31 but as I have never shot one and hear good things about it's accuracy. I just dont really know if I want one. (Another firearm I have to buy ammo for) What I would like if possible so I can compare it to other rifles is take the list of rifles below and list then in order of average accuracy from best to worst. Hope this is not too complicated.
Lets just say all rifles below are in the same shape. Great bores and very servicable.
AR15 HBAR
Garand
1903a3
Finnish M39
K31
M1A

You'll get a lot of variability in the list. Suffice to say that the K31 would be near the top.
I'd prolly rate them about like this; taking into consideration the average off the shelf non match-grade for each:
Finnish M39
K31
1903a3
AR15 HBAR
Garand
M1A
Others will be along soon to completely disagree with me. :p

That is fine. I am looking at the averages anyway. I am sure everyone would be different. Thanks for your input.

That order is about right. It really depends what comes out on top with the K31 and the Finish M39 on the quality of each rifle, but it be hard for the others to come near it.

The bonus on the M39 is how cheap the ammo is.

1903a3 - M118 Match
Finnish M39 - Lapua 148gr D-47 Match
AR15 HBAR - Mk 262 Mod 1
K31 - Swiss GP11
M1A - M118 Match
Garand - M2 Ball
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Truthfully, it's not entirely fair to compare sniper or DM grade bolt actions to battle rifles, but then again, it's more interesting this way!

ChevellRCR, it's a milsurp rifle. You pay your money and take your chances. The advantage of a Swiss rifle is that you know that the troopie who had it also looked after it and it never saw any 'combat' abuse.
The thing with milsurps is that it isn't about the calibre, its accuracy, where it was made or used. It's about the rifle. You don't get a manufacturer's guarantee. You may have to make the brass and load your own ammo, but you do get to own and shoot a rifle that's not the same old commercially made hunting rifle. Of the rifles you listed, you have two commercial rifles. The H-bar and the M1A. Go buy the K31 and have fun with it.

Everybody needs at least one K31 in the collection, get it now. They won't be getting any cheaper when the imports dry up. A lot of people are banging their head because they could have got the Swede mausers just a few years ago for around a $100bucks, they go for three to four times that now.

Well, you are eventually going to get them all, right? Might as well get a couple of K-31's to start!

1903a3 - M118 Match
asknight,
are you refering to the m118 special ball used by the military in the SWS's, because the m118 that i know is a 7.62x51 rd not a .30-06, unless you have a high speed .308 caliber 03 springfield. that has been converted.

I got to check out the K31 today myself, I was impressed by it so I ordered myself one. I love how the action works, just pull the bolt straight back, and push it forward, no twisting.

possum, you're right. I had a brain fart and that should have noted M2 ball on the 1903a3.
Colt.45, do remember that the 1903a3 was the sniper's rifle of choice during those years and would indeed print sub-MOA groups with good ammo.

no problem there buddy, i thought there might be a .308 03 springfield out there and i was feeling cheated by not knowing about it, i was like woah! i need one of those, but since the really don't exist it would be rather cool.

I am gonna say that they most definetly can.:)
