Been using the excellent but hard to find Rubber Boot Grips (Butler Creek) for a while now but am now considering moving up to the "real thing".

Where the heck can one buy the Wood versions of these bad boys?

S&W sells wood Boot Grips for the J-frames right off of there site but does not list any for K/L frame round butts. :(

Can some one hook me up with a URL for this?

Smooth rosewood for $59, checkered for $79 and the do list K&L frame round butt.
I have a pair of checkered ones on my SP101 and really like the feel.
Found mine on an online auction, can't remember if it was ebay, gunbroker or auctionarms but paid considerably less.

WHO is Craig???? How much were those grips?

I have wondered why these boot grips are so expensive.

I have butler creeks on my j-mod 36, and my sp101.

I just could not see spending $85-100 for a set of wood grips with checkering.

Spegel is a pretty well known custom grip maker out of Oregon. I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about his work or service. I've talked with him once or twice on the phone and he was great both times. Seriously, people with his grips all seem really happy with them.

Regarding that Pick a Grip site, I bought a set of Ahrends from there and was very happy with the service, and the grips. I phoned in my order, spoke with Don himself, and had the grips in my hands within a couple of days.

I gave around $80 (give or take) for this pair. IMO, Spegel is one of the finest grip makers in the country. The fit & finish is flawless. I have a set of his Target++ on one of my N-Frames.
He specializes in Coco Bolo, by the way.

Thanks riddleofsteel! I didn't think to look there. They are a good deal cheaper too! $70.00 is within the realm of possible for me!
