Has anyone ever attempted to replace sights on a Sig before? Do you need their "patented sight removal and adjuster?"

I have standard sights on my gun now and can't hit jack, so I want to replace them with Trijicon Night Sights, 1 they are cool, 2 I hit better with that type of sight (3 dot pattern), and 3 i just want them :).

Got any information for me...anything is appreciated.

I have heard some horror stories about sight installations using the punch and hammer method. I have a sight pusher for the SIG classic and the Pro series. I bought night sights from Sig directly and put them on myself. I have a Pro 2022 9mm. Just make sure you get the right sight height #'s. I believe the correct #'s for the Pro 2340 should be #6 front and #8 rear, according to the info from Sig I have here.

If I didn't want to spend the money to buy the tool, would it be relatively cheap to have a gunsmith put them on?

probably around $20 to have them put on the sights.

Go over to the Sig forum. There are a few members that will rent you their tool or even send it to you to use for free.

Do not try to remove the sights with a punch.
