Okay, well, I just went ahead and did it.

Couldn't bring myself to sell a piece that I like that much, so I KEPT the Kimber Custom II and BOUGHT a G17 with the my tax refund check today.

Really shouldn't have done it, need to save as much $$ as possible, but just COULDN'T bring myself to get rid of such a good shooter as my 1911.

Here's a quick and dirty picture of the pair.

I gave $519 + Tax for the G17, 3rd Generation (whatever that means) with two hi-cap 17 round mags. How did I do?

Oh, and thanks to everyone who encouraged me to keep the Kimber. It was the right decision.

Such a nice pair of pistols. I hope to own both, some day.

To answer your question on what constitues a third generation Glock, the following picture might be helpful...

Note the finger grooves and tac rail on your Glock. The going price I've seen for Glocks is around $539, so I'd say you got a slight break on the price.

^ Thanks for the info. Yeah...almost bought the G17 from Sportsman's Outfitters, theirs was $499 but it came with 10 round mags, so I had to take a pass.

Gonna shoot her on Sunday or Thursday.

Never get rid of a gun that you really love. I'm happy you didn't sell your Kimber, you would have lived to regret that decision.

:)
