I am currently wanting to buy some grips for my .357 revolver and hope for some information. My revolver is a Smith And Wesson and from a different post with pictures it was suggested that its a model 28 here is the link to my old post http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=116396 I would like to get some rubber grips but dont know for sure where to get them and how to make sure they will fit.I would like to buy online and if anyone has a suggestion where to buy them i would appreciate any suggestions ..A poster on the old thread said it was model 28 but how do i make sure. Thanks for your time and for any information. The reason I would like new grips is to make it more comfortable when shooting 357's out of it .38's are comfortable but the 357s tend to hurt my hand after a box of ammo.

The factory woods grips stay on my 2.5" Model 19 and my 2.75" Speed-Six for show, but if I am going to actually shoot or carry them I change them out for the Pachmayr Compac rubber grips. There are other rubber grips that might provide more cushioning, but I find that these tame the .357 and continue to allow me to carry them without added bulk.

When you swing out the cylinder the model # should be stamped on the frame. You need to know what frame it is, square or round butt. I put Hogue Monogrips on my revolvers. I'm more interested in accuracy than looks.
If you can't find the model # or are unsure about the frame/butt, take it to a local gun shop, they'll be glad to help, may have a grip in stock, and would probably install it if they do have one.
Good luck,
Jeff
