Does anyone make aftermarket grips for this gun??i cannot find anybody that does.I like the gun but the grips are too small for my hands.Am willing to give up a little concealability for more control!!

Hi TC. I don't have an answer for your question. I just wanted to know how you like the 617? I was looking at getting one for ccw. I like the SS, hammerless, non ported model. Having 7 rounds instead of 5 sounds good to me. Thanks

I have the same problem with my Taurus 605. Here is what I came up with on my search.

http://www.pachmayr.com/pachmayr/index.htm (Pachmayr)

http://www.getgrip.com (Hogue)

The Hogue grips are no bigger than the stock set, so I'm going with the Pachmayr. :D

I don't think I would buy it again, not because of the quality but first of all due to the small grips.I thought I could live with them but find they are just not comfortable for me.Also that 7 rd cylinder is bulky and as it weighs like 30 oz loaded all the weight is towards the front with (for me)only the small grips to hold on to. I bought a FIST holster and while that is also a quality item it did not help with concealment very much. I am sure I tried both the places suggested but will look again. If no luck I will trade/sell it. I sugest you find one and check it out though I have never seen one on the shelf.I ordred it sight unseen ,not recommended! Thanks to both of you, will let you know.

One lesson to be learned here is never buy a gun sight unseen!!!

I like the M605. I had one previously, but sold it to buy my wife a Kel-Tek P32. I knew exactly what I was getting. I had the Hogue Grips on it. That is why I will try the Pachmyr product this time around!! :D

TCD451,

Do you have the regular rubber grips, or the ribber grips? The ribber grips are kind of funny looking, but they are fairly hand-filling and comfortable.

You can get them from Taurus for $16.

Hope you find the grips you're looking for.

On a related note, please let me know if you plan to sell the factory grips (either TC or denfoote).

Another REALLY nice grip for the Taurus is the Boot Grip and the more standard grip sold by Butler Creek (http://www.michaels-oregon.com/butlercreek_p.asp?grpky=217 - click on "Product List" at the bottom of the page for specific model numbers). I've used these on a Taurus 605, and they made a great deal of difference in shooting comfort and control. I prefer them to the Pachmayrs and Hogues from the point of view of concealment.

Ok, stupid question time. What is the "boot grip"? Is that the narrow curved grip?

It was not exactly "sight unseen" as I did check it out on the Taurus website.Don't know anyone that would buy a gun without seeing it.As I said ,to this day,I have not seen one on the shelf, and this was the first and last time it will happen. If I can get a pair of grips for it the old ones will be sold,it does have the regular rubber grips.Tried the two suggested sources ,still no luck had tried them before

Thanks to Dash Riprock For the info.I have ordered the Ribber. Some of you may know this and some may not but the grips for this gun are like the Mono-Grip without the stirup. They slide onto a stud and are secured by a screw at the bottom.I don't know if any of other small Taurus use this system or not.By he way they were 19.00+4.75 s&h
