...for a rifle that was never meant to be a scout rifle? Dioes anyone make such a mount that will allow a rifle set up for a standard eye relief scope to use a scout style scope? I'm picking up my Ruger model 44 carbine soon, and I think it'd be ultra spiffy with a scout style scope:cool:

A number of manufacturers make mounts to fit various rifles. I don't know about one for a Ruger .44, though - you'll have to do a Web search. Some places to try:
