Have heard to watch out as many of the aftermarket mags are complete trash. Have heard to stay away from USA, and some other ;el-cheapo unmarked imports. But have heard good about PMI and Mec-Gar magazines. Does anyone else have any input in this area. Saw some PMI and Black Warrior mags at CDNN but do not want to wind up getting some useless junk.

With the demise of the AWB, Ruger factory mags are now available again for $35 or less each, though not directly from Ruger, who only sells them to gummint agencies. :cuss: There are dealers out there who'll sell them to you, however. They are the best.
PMI mags are top notch. I have 9 (4 30s and 5 20s) that I got during the AWB. They run 100% and are made as well as Ruger mags.
According to the Mini-14 experts at the PerfectUnion BBS, the new Pro-Mag and John Masen mags work well, though I have not tried any.

I have some John Masen 10-round mags and some Pro-Mag 20-rounders. All work fine in my Mini-14 although one of the Masen mags needed to have a feed lip bent slightly. IIRC, I paid about $17 each for them.

I bought five 20rd Ruger factory mags a few months ago online but I don't remember who I bought them from. They weren't cheap but they work perfectly. Spend some time on Google and I'm sure you can find a source.

I was TOLD that they no longer make the hi-caps. Thought that sounded odd. Will have to call them since I work for the gubmint. Maybe I can get some direct. Hmmmmm

John Masen 20 & 30 rounders; No Problems..... in my SS Ranch Rifle.
Ruger factory would be the "best" but the cost is often times prohibitive compared to the Masen's.
