Pistol Packing Ladies

I was out to dinner tonight with my wife, my mom and dad, and some of their friends. They are in their 50's and 60's. One of the ladies, out of the blue, wants to know if her carry permit is good in a neighboring state. (I suggested packing.org of course). Another one chimes in about how she needs to get her permit renewed, and how she doesn't like keeping her gun in her purse but hasn't figured out any other way that works for her.

After reading so many "wife/girlfriend/fiancee is an anti" threads lately, it was fun to find out these distinguished middle-aged ladies were all packing heat. I wish the next generation was more like them.

I'm not sure what I like best in this post. The fact that the ladies carry or that you consider 50-60 middle aged. (I'm approaching 40)

I am 40. Maybe that's why I consider them middle aged ;)

Also, they are all active - rowing, horseback riding, etc. They aren't exactly feeble little old ladies.

Depending on what she's wearing my "middle aged" wife pack a Makarov either in her purse, or in a Fobus paddle Holster.

She's also got a couple of Ruger 22's, a Bersa 22, a Hi-Point 9mm, a Ruger 10/22 rifle. She wants a shotgun next. And either an AR or an AK after that.

Here she's checking out her son's M-16 at Ft. Bragg a few weeks ago. (We're not sure if her finger is on the trigger or not. She said she didn't think it was. From the picture I can't really tell. Sometimes it looks like it was. Other times it looks straight.)

I'd love to find a gun friendly woman:( . Sadly here in the Kommunist Republic of Maryland there aren't too many, and the ones that are out there are taken. Bummer... :banghead:

Sadly here in the Kommunist Republic of Maryland there aren't too many, and the ones that are out there are taken.

I was lucky enough to find one that I could convert enough to at least be tolerant of my fondness for freedom, the constitution and firearms.

She's no fan of a semiauto handgun, but she sure does like my brother's Taurus .38 revolver.

CajunBass. Its definetly straight. At first glance it looks like it is bent, but on closer examination, you can see all the joints. I can even see the fingernail.:D No worries bout her gun safety.

Thanks Indy. I thought it was too, but I had posted that picture on another board, and someone ripped her for having her finger on the trigger. Rather than argue, I put the disclaimer in there. :D

I will admit that the angle can fool you if you just glance at it.

I messed up today and let her shoot my Springfield XD-9. Now she's walking around muttering about HER XD. :what: I lose more guns that way.

I was lucky in this respect too. My wife had no problems shouldering a shotgun come hunting season when we first met. Now, 13 years later, she has no problem carrying concealed.

I think more and more women are carrying these days but they choose to keep it to themselves. No one but myself and close family members know that my wife carries. On the flipside, most of my friends know that I carry simply because it's a topic we all relate too.

When I first met my wife almost 5 years ago she would never allow a gun into herhouse. Now she is never caught without one. She carries her Bersa .380 everywhere she goes. Proud owner of a couple rifles and pistols and is constantly hounding me for a Kimber Eclipse. Only way I get a new gun is if she does too. :)

outlawgunslinger... your wife and mine have got to be related. mine carries a bersa and a s&w908, and we have to trade off on gun buying.

today she got a taurus pt145, so the next gun buy is mine.:)

My husband likes to joke that he married me for my firearms collection... Well, on second thought, maybe he's not joking!:D

besides her purse, this month in Woman's Outlook (the NRA magazine for us ladies) beginning on page 36 there is a good article on concealed-carry clothing for women using various holsters.
