I have a Glock 21 with a Barsto barrel in it. I am trying to get a round that will feed in it. I am using 200 gr Speer gold bullets with VV 340. I have also tried 185 and 230 but they do not let the pistol lock up completely. I have used just cheap RCBS dies but have a set of Redding dies coming. How can I get the crimp tight enough to feed. I feel like am crimping the bullet plenty. I can get the rounds to feed in my stock glock barrel but donot what to have a $200 BARREL SET IN THE BOX. I would love to get some feedback onnpossible options to try. Thanks

It isn't the crimp that is holding the rounds up. Crimp to .470" at the case mouth and that is as tight as you will EVER need to go.
Take a marker, color a case completely. Feed it into the gun, eject it and look for where the marker is rubbed off. Odds are very good that the problem is case bulge down near the rim. A Lee sizing die will go a lot lower on the case and get the bulge out, and they will feed just fine. I would spend an extra ten bucks and get the undersize die from EGW, any chance of setback is gone and they will chamber in anything.
The Redding dies may or may not help. The Competition Seating Die is worth every penny, but for 45 acp I would not spend the extra money on the sizing or crimp die from Redding.
Someone will be along shortly to recommend a Lee Factory Crimp Die. That is a band-aid approach to the problem and will not address the root cause.

Are you sure your BarSto barrel isn't short chambered? Some match barrels come with the chamber cut short so that the barrel can be custom fitted to your gun. After fitting, the chamber is then cut to correct size.

The chamber of the barrel was fit at factory. I will play with the idea of full size resize die.

Are your cases the correct length?

Aftermarket barrels frequently advertise "tight match chambers", but they are really just undersize so as to get a little better accuracy out of a Ransom Rest at the expense of reliability.
Do factory loads work in that barrel? If not, send it back for rework.
If they do, the EGW undersize sizing die HSMITH recommends will do you more good than anything.

lomont,
Where is your round hanging up and what part of the round is hanging up when entering the chamber? And have you tried a factory round as Jim suggested? Specifically, try some ball ammo (FMJ), such as Winchester White Box or the equivalent in Federal or Remington. If that ammo won't feed, have your local gunsmith "kiss" the chamber with his reamer.
For most applications, a "tight" chamber is NOT worth the tradeoff in reliability. You get more accuracy out of how the barrel locks up than you do from a tight chamber. I own quite a few extremely accurate 1911's and other pistols. NONE have "match" chambers. Something to think about.

Guys
You have given me enough good ideas . I need to get back to the reloader and then to the range to get you feedback. I am going to change back to stock barrel and springs to make sure it is not a pistol issue. Then work on my loads. If I get it back to firing this ammo I will start will the barrel next. It seems to fire factory ammo just fine.
Once again thanks for the great ideas and help
