I just purchased an old universal M1 carbine. It has a horrible trigger pull. I havent pulled it apart yet but from what i can find online it appears i could just replace the coil spring in the trigger group with a lighter one.

Is this the feasible? Im not looking for a ultralight match trigger just something lighter than what it is now.

Maybe a dumb question, but have you thoroughly cleaned the mechanism out and lubed it? That, including using a good grease at the right points, can make a big difference.
