I have a 243 bore brush and was wondering if I could use it on my ar and my mini instead of going out and buying and 223 brush. I know this is a small question but you guys have taught me alot so far.

A .243 brush will be too big.
When you force it through the smaller .223 bore, the bristles will get "sprung" and it's won't clean properly.

There's also a chance of getting a too-big brush stuck in the bore.

Bore brushes don't last long, so buy in bulk from Brownell's.

I usually get the bronze core brushes by Tipton via Midway or the bronze core brushes sold by Sinclair. They should come in 12-packs.
