I picked up a US Arms 44 mag 2 weeks ago. One of the wooden grips is broken and I am not having luck looking locally for a replacement or slip on. gunbroker, ebay and auctionarms have also come up empty. Any other ideas? This is also my first revolver. Any information about this gun would also be appreciated.

Do you have a picture you could post? If not, is it a single action Colt clone? Grips for a Colt would probably fit. Take it to your friendly neighborhood gun shop, and they will probably help you figure it out.

You'll want to contact www.usfirearms.com to confirm, but I'm pretty sure your gun is the size as the Colt.
Good Luck...

Apparently US firearms is not the same company as US arms. I sent them an email asking for help and they replied that they only work on their guns. I will try to get some pics tonight and post them.
The barrel marking is:
US Arms - AIG Inc.
No. Haven CT.

You might find grips at the following link:
www.e-gunparts.com
In any case, the ones you have are similar to a Ruger Super Blackhawk with the squareback trigger guard. There is a little wedge-shaped cutout at the top/front of the grip and the U.S. Sporting Arms is similar except the cut-out is at the bottom/front. Aftermarker Ruger grips are easy to modify.

Thanks Fuff. You are truely wise as usual.
Here is a pic as promised. The only text that is on the other side that is different is the word ABILENE near the grip on the lower part of the frame just above the trigger.

You might want to go over to Sixgunner.com and read the posts by 'seville'. His dad founded the company that made your gun.

NICE! :D Thanks boxhead. I was looking just for super blackhawk grips when I was on their site.
Since it sounds like you have one, what do you think of it? As I said this is my first revolver and plan to use it for bear season this fall. Darn game commission won't let me use my glock.

realizing this is an old post but Packmayer Super blackhawk grips should also work.

Not sure if you are looking for Western or Conventional. Eagle Grips is a good source for any Custom Grip.
